Keely had been talking some before we came back to the States, but just a couple days after arriving here the floodgates opened. We think it helped that she always heard English around her. Since she is talking up a storm, she is now saying interesting and cute things.
"What you doing Mommy (Daddy, baby, Mimi, Papa -- whoever she is talking to)?" If Keely asks this once, she asks it a million times a day and sometimes a million times in a minute! She has just started to answer the question when we ask her too!
"I went night night." Keely says this after her nap and in the morning after getting up in a very excited voice (like she is very proud of herself). She even says it when she has just been reading in her room and we try to correct her but she doesn't go for it!!
"No thank you." Keely was passionately saying no one day when I asked her if she wanted something and so I told her say no thank you if you don't want something. The very next time I asked her if she wanted something she said no thank you. What is funny is that if you ask her something like, "Do you have a dirty diaper?" She responds "No thank you." "Are you sleepy?" "No thank you." At least she's polite, huh?
"Baby Jordan." In the morning, when Keely is coming downstairs she normally calls out for me, "Mommy." One night I was feeding Jordan in her room and Keely came in to say good night. When she got up that morning she went to go find baby Jordan in her room, but she was downstairs with me eating. The whole way downstairs Keely called out, "Baby Jordan, baby Jordan, baby Jordan." When she found us, she leaned over and gave her a kiss. (When Kelly gives kisses she goes mmmmm ah.) It was sweet.
I love hearing the precious things little ones say - so glad you wrote these down, they are so easy to forget as they get older. Here is an idea that I have done some (but not nearly as often as i thought about it) - try recording her saying a few things, then save the files to listen to as she gets older and you can hear her speech changing.
ReplyDeleteoh how cute!! That's so fun! I can't wait to hear her speak :) It will be fun to see her too.... TOMORROW! :)
ReplyDeletehaha! that is so cute! my chu chu says all the time "bye bye--i see you morrow." it cracks me up. he is only 7 days younger the keely so they are hitting stages at the same time. he also opened the flood gates on talking around the same time keely did. that's awesome!
