Where Have We Been?!?

We went on vacation to the states November 15th. Things got really crazy the week before we left and so even though we had the greatest intentions to post that we were going...it didn't happen. Then we were going to post while we were there and discovered we didn't have the cable to our camera to download pictures! So we apologize for being so tardy and not letting all of you know that we were in the States!

Our trip was very eventful! When we went to check in to leave Chiang Mai, it took over 30 minutes to check in because we had requested the bassinet but they had assigned it to someone else and it hadn't been confirmed like we had thought. In Bangkok, they couldn't fix it but put us in a row where we would have it to ourselves. When we board the plane, we find it's a row where none of the arms will go up on the seats so it wouldn't help us but one of the flight attendants came to meet Keely and moved us to the bassinet seats because it was assigned to a child that was over the 24lb weight limit to use it! We took the nonstop flight from Bangkok to LA and it was great! It was 14 hours, but Keely slept well on the plane and we had more room on this plane than others!

Our time was great in the states and we got to spend a week in Jacksonville visiting Jacob's family and week with mine. We'll post more pictures and stories soon.

Our trip back was too eventful! We started our journey back to Thailand on Wednesday November 29th and got to Thailand Sunday December 3rd! When we checked in at the Springfield airport, our flight was delayed because of thunderstorms in Chicago and they weren't letting flights in and out of Chicago at different points in the day. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 1:18pm...we got on the plane the first time at 3:00pm and then sat on the plane for a couple hours. After the plane that was using our gate finally left, we went back to the gate and got off for a little while and then got back on and waited and finally left around 6:30! Our next flight in Chicago was suppose to leave at 5:00pm. When we got there, it had been delayed until 8:30 and we made the flight. However, we didn't make it to LA until after 11pm and our flight to Thailand left at 10:30. The nonstop flight only operates on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, so United tried to reticket us and put us up in a hotel that night. We arrive back at the airport 3 1/2 hours before that flight was to leave and we were at the counter for over an hour! To make the story a bit shorter, basically we couldn't leave on that flight because our Thai tickets hadn't been released and couldn't be released until their office opened, which wouldn't open until Friday around 7pm for the next nonstop flight. We already knew that flight was full, but Jacob was able to call Thai and get us on that flight. So, we stayed in LA for 48 hours until we could get on the next Thai Airlines flight! We did get to see friends so that was cool! The flight back was 17 1/2 hours but again so great!! Keely fell asleep in my arms about an hour and a half before we left and then slept 8 1/2 hours in the bassinet before waking the first time!! We had been trying to track our bags this whole trip and at each airport were told they were there and following us...even in Bangkok. But when we finally arrived in Chiang Mai they weren't there and we are again hearing lots of stories! So hopefully our bags will arrive soon!!

We'll post pictures soon...but that is where we have been the past few weeks!!
