1 Year

As of June 1st we have lived in Hong Kong 1 year. We also successfully finished our first year of Project 365-- where we took a picture every day (give or take :-)). I remember last fall looking through the months we had done and it motivated me to keep going. It was a lot of fun to look back at what we had done. Looking back now, it's fun to see how much the girls have grown up and changed! We are also so thankful we chose to do it when we did because we have documented our one and only year in Hong Kong. I'm so thankful for when the girls ask about it we'll have pictures and journalling to tell us about it. Jacob always dreamed of living here and we have enjoyed it (even though like any place it has it's hard points), and that makes it very significant of the timing of this first Project 365.

You keep saying first Project 365, are you planning on continuing? Yes, most definitely. There were some weeks when I downloaded pictures that I had to stretch and search for a picture that would work for a day or two. And there were a few boring days like this:

I have taken a few pictures of the girls on these rocking park toys and they have never turned out. I had already taken a picture of the day this day and I was just enjoying watching the girls have fun at the park. Keely knew that I ALWAYS had my camera with me and begged me to take the picture. If I wasn't doing Project 365 I may not have had my camera with me. I took a few pictures pretty sure none of them would turn out. After I downloaded my pictures and was choosing the ones for Project 365, I really liked the way this one turned out. The one I took for this day, that I thought would have turned out really well didn't. It was my lucky day that Keely begged for a picture! HAHA!

Of course one of the biggest reasons I am glad that we did Project 365 and why we will continue is that we actually have pictures for every month! Last week I was working on a 2009 Year in Review project and got to May and had only 5 pictures for that whole month besides some professional pictures we had taken! We may end up with a whole hard drive full of pictures, but if we weren't doing this our children might not know what their childhood was like at all!!
